East Cooper Top Producers Club

Conceived in 1990, the East Cooper Top Producers Club is comprised solely of agents from Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. Monthly meetings are held to discuss and share information concerning issues affecting the entire East Cooper region. East Cooper Top Producers Club President Tommy Lovett says, “There is always a great deal of sharing of information at our meetings. Agents enjoy having this type of open forum to meet with other agents and discuss issues that affect their business.”

Guest speakers from both the public and private sectors are part of each meeting and have included the mayor of Mount Pleasant, the Charleston County superintendent of education, the president of development for Dunes West, as well as environmentalists, mortgage bankers and home inspectors. These people are aware of the influence of the East Cooper Top Producers Club and consider it an honor to be invited to share their views. “In fact, in the last couple of years I’ve started having people call to ask if they can come talk to our group,” Lovett says.

At present the East Cooper Top Producers Club has 112 active members who must meet stringent requirements, including a minimum of $3 million in closed sales for the previous calendar year. This is to ensure that each member is an active and productive East of the Cooper real estate agent. These agents are truly the heart of the East Cooper real estate community. An East Cooper top producer also must be a member in good standing of the Charleston Trident Board of Realtors, must attend a certain number of monthly meetings and must make specific contributions, both of time and money, to the East Cooper community.

Participating in Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Camp Happy Days and Friends of Santa, the East Cooper Top Producers Club also created and now supports a Wando High School scholarship fund.

Striving to make East of the Cooper a better place to live, not only for their clients but also for their own families, members have over the years become an influential advocacy group. Active participants at their respective town council meetings, these realtors really care about the issues that affect the quality of life and the direction of their communities.

“These folks practice a higher standard of real estate and it shows in their concern not only for their clients but for their community,” Lovett says. “I’m proud to say that our members are well educated and up-to-date in the quickly changing real estate profession, as well as on governmental issues that affect the community in which they live and work.”

While $3 million of closed real estate sales in one year is something of which each of these agents is proud, the members of the East Cooper Top Producers Club also share a great deal of pride in the knowledge that for the last 13 years, their active participation has helped to make positive changes in the East Cooper Region.
